Since graduating from the University of Washington in December 1998, Laurel Larsen worked in medical billing until joining the Rice Insurance team in September 2007.  Between billing insurance carriers across the country and using her English degree to compose effective appeal letters, Laurel enjoys successfully sorting through the confusing world of health insurance.  These days, Laurel happily works with individuals and business owners who are looking for the healthcare coverage which best suits their family’s and employees’ medical needs, as well as their pocketbook. 

Having owned a small business, Laurel is passionate about her clients having a local advocate.  All those years of medical billing resulted in an increased awareness of claims processing; Laurel has saved clients thousands of dollars by simply researching the ways in which a carrier processes a claim and asking for corrections.  With precise attention to detail, you can feel confident that you are purchasing a plan without any surprises.

When not pouring over policies, plan summaries, and explanations of benefits, Laurel is usually spending time with her loving husband and their outstanding friends and family.  After spending weekend days DIY-ing at home, she’s often cooking up gourmet meals and sipping wine while she pretends she’s on Food Network.
